#1 Razorbacks sweep Ole Miss for the first time since 2002

Nolan Souza homered twice to help the Hogs take game three 7-4.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — No. 1 Arkansas baseball (27-3, 11-1 SEC) defeated Ole Miss (18-15, 3-9), 7-4, to complete the weekend series sweep.

This is the Razorbacks best 12-game start in league play since joining the SEC in 1992 and the first weekend series sweep over the Rebels since 2002.

Freshman infielder Nolan Souza had a big day knocking in two home runs. The first one was a solo shot to open up the scoring in the bottom of the fourth before his three-run home run in the seventh.

Junior right-hander Brady Tygart went 4.1 innings allowing two runs on four hits while punching out seven. Gabe Gaeckle earned his first collegiate win after 2.2 innings pitched with four strikeouts.

Arkansas closes out the homestand with a two-game midweek series against San Jose State starting on Tuesday. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. on the SEC Network+.
