Suspect shot after attempted robbery of armored truck outside Little Rock bank | What we know

A lawyer was shot in Little Rock after he allegedly attempted to rob an armored vehicle outside of a Bank of America and escaped via bicycle.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Update: We have confirmed that Green is a practicing lawyer in Little Rock, who previously worked at Green & Gillispie Law Firm.

On Wednesday, the Arkansas Department of Transportation initially reported that a "police incident" was causing traffic on I-430 near Exit 8 and Rodney Parham Road.

Northbound traffic along the interstate was impacted resulting in the left lane being temporarily blocked.

In the time since, police confirmed that the incident on I-430 was connected to a shooting that occurred at a Bank of America located along Geyer Springs Road.

According to reports, a Loomis armored truck was parked next to an ATM when the driver was approached by an "unknown white male," later identified as Chad Green.

The driver informed officers that Green asked how he was doing and then immediately sprayed him with mace several times. In response, the driver pulled out his service weapon and fired a couple of shots at Green.

Green fled the scene on a bicycle and headed west toward the woods. Officials later located him on I-430 near Rodney Parham Road.

Green informed officers that he had been shot. He was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.

There's no further information on the incident, but we will update this story as more information becomes available.
