One dead after motorcycle crash near Vian

Walters was transported to a nearby hospital with head, arm, and leg injuries and later pronounced dead.

VIAN, Okla. — One person is dead after a motorcycle crash on I-40 in Sequoyah County.

The crash occurred on I-40 eastbound around two miles west of Vian.

A report from Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) says that on May 3, 41-year-old Sallisaw man Jonathan Walters was driving his Harley Davidson motorcycle when he lost control on a curve, left the roadway, and struck a cable barrier.

Walters was transported to a nearby hospital with head, arm, and leg injuries. The report says that conditions were cloudy and dry, and that a helmet was in use.
