CENTERTON, Ark. — A man has been arrested in Centerton in connection to the death of his mother.
Kamron Edgar Williams, 20, was arrested by Centerton police on March 29 and is accused of capital murder, residential burglary, and interference with emergency communications. He's being held on a $750,000 bond.
The incident took place on 116 Elm St. The victim has been identified as Vicki Williams, 51.
Cpl. Christian Espitia, the public information officer for the Centerton Police Department, told 5NEWS that a child called 911 saying that her brother and mother were in a fight around 9 a.m.
Espitia says Kamron was waiting for police when officers arrived.
Officers attempted life-saving measures, and she was taken to a nearby hospital where she died.
"There was a history of domestic violence with this family. Officers with the Centerton Police Department have been to this residence and a previous residence they had here in town for domestic violence situations," Espitia said. "There was an active no contact order in place, so he wasn't permitted by court order to be around his mother or the child caller."
Just last year, Kamron was arrested after allegedly causing thousands of dollars in damage to his mother's property after a fight, which is where the no contact order stems from.
Court documents from that case reveal that Vicki called law enforcement on May 5, 2023, reporting that Kamron was "destroying the house."
An affidavit says that Kamron admitted to police that he destroyed items belonging to his mother, including a grandfather clock valued at over $4,000.
"When asked what happened that night, he said he destroyed his mother's clock and cabinet and punched holes in the wall because he was mad at his mom. He said he and his mother were always fighting," court documents said.
