RB Isaiah Augustave enters transfer portal hours after Arkansas's Red-White Game

Isaiah Augustave compiled 202 yards on 35 carries for the Hogs last season, but is entering the transfer portal after logging only seven yards in the spring game.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Arkansas running back Isaiah Augustave is entering the transfer portal just hours after the school's spring game.

The sophomore announced the decision on X, formerly known as Twitter, and said it was "what's best" for him with three years of eligibility left.

"After long conversations with my family, I would like to announce that I am officially entering my name into the transfer portal with three years of eligibility left," Augustave said. "It's time to do what's best for me. Thank you, Hog Nation!"

Augustave played in 11 games last season and finished fifth on the team in rushing with 202 yards and one touchdown on 35 carries. He led the team on the ground over the season's final two games, recording 181 yards against Flordia International and Missouri.

"I want to thank Coach Pittman and the rest of the coaching staff for blessing me with the opportunity to play the game I love," Augustave said. "Thank you to all my teammates. I'm very grateful for the time I've spent with you all."

On Saturday, Augustave finished with six rushes for seven yards during the Red-White Game at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium.

Utah transfer Ja'Quinden Jackson looked like the clear-cut No. 1 running back for the Razorbacks, compiling three total touchdowns and 65 yards on 13 carries, including a 15-yard receiving touchdown from quarterback Taylen Green.

Braylen Russell, a freshman running back from Benton High School, also looked impressive on the ground, scoring a 32-yard touchdown in the third quarter.

Arkansas is incredibly deep at the running back position this year. With Augustave entering the transfer portal, the Hogs still have five running backs: Jackson, Russell, Rashod Dubinion, Dominique Jackson and Jezreel Bachert.

Dubinion was the team's starting running back for most of last season and racked up 260 yards and one touchdown on 82 carries.

Augustave led the Razorbacks in yards per carry (5.8) out of players with a minimum of 20 rushing attempts.
