Walmart's Toyland event will be Nov. 3 this year— and in a new location

Toyland is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 3, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

BENTONVILLE, Ark. — The annual holiday gift event Toyland will be relocating from Downtown Bentonville to the Walmart Home Office parking lot, Walmart announced Wednesday.

The event is hosted by Walmart with help from Downtown Bentonville Inc. (DBI) and will take place this year on Friday, Nov. 3, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Toyland highlights the top toys of the holiday season with booths from Walmart and its suppliers, giving the community the chance to interact with potential Christmas gifts ahead of the big day.

Dana Schlagenhaft, the executive director of DBI, says the main reason for the venue change is the event's growth. “If you’ve attended Toyland over the past several years, you’ve noticed the event has experienced exponential growth, exceeding our initial expectations. While this underscores the enthusiastic support from our community, it has also presented logistical challenges,” Schlagenhaft said.

She also pointed out the current renovation projects taking place in Downtown Bentonville, including the historic Walton 5&10.  “The decision to relocate Toyland in 2023 to the Walmart Home Office parking lot will create a more controlled environment for all participants,” Schlagenhaft said.

In the announcement, Walmart said Toyland will feature meet and greets with characters including Gabby from Gabby’s Dollhouse, Poppy from Trolls, Baby Raptor from Jurassic Park, and X-Games World Championship skateboarder Greg Lutzk.
