LITTLE ROCK (KFSM) — Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge rejected a marijuana legalization proposal on Monday (Oct. 26), citing ambiguities in the text.

Rutledge also stated the proposal from Mary Berry contained “errors of grammar, punctuation and spelling,” according to court documents.

The proposal was geared “to allow the cultivation, production, distribution, sale, possession and use of the cannabis plant, and all products derived from the cannabis plant, within the geographic boundaries of the State of Arkansas,” according to Rutledge’s opinion summary.

Rutledge did conclude her decision by instructing Berry to redesign the measure and ballot title and then resubmit it.
