Local towing company offering free tows on New Year's Eve

"We also want everybody to go out and have fun but we also want everybody to get home safely. And you know, life is precious," Billy Moore with JHook said.

SPRINGDALE, Ark. — Whether you're headed out to Record's New Year's Eve party in Bentonville or "Now That's What I Call A New Year's Party" at JJ's Live in Fayetteville, it's time to start planning your ride home.

During the 2021 New Year's holiday period, 40% of traffic deaths involved a drunk driver. One local towing company wants to help prevent those kinds of wrecks going into 2024.

"We also want everybody to go out and have fun but we also want everybody to get home safely. And you know, life is precious," Billy Moore with JHook Towing & Recovery said.

JHook Towing & Recovery is providing its free New Year's towing service for the first time to Northwest Arkansas to make sure people get home safely after a night out.

Although it is new to our area, JHook started the annual tradition in Central Arkansas.

"[We've] been offering free rides for the Little Rock area for the last 15 years," Moore said. "This is our first year in the NWA area."

JHook will have three trucks dedicated to providing safe rides home from Sunday, Dec. 31, at 9 p.m. until Monday, Jan. 1, at 5 a.m.

The only requirement is that you must be within the limits of Washington County.

And if you are worried about how much it will cost, Moore said, "We will tow you and your vehicle home free of charge."

"We want to be able to make sure that they go out and have fun, get home safely, and are able to be back with their loved ones the following day," Moore said.
