FORT SMITH, Arkansas — UPDATE: The LeFlore County Sheriff’s Department confirmed at 2:34 p.m. Sunday (Sept. 5) that the children were home and safe.

The Fort Smith Police Department (FSPD) is asking the public to be on the lookout for a U-Haul van seen Saturday (Sept. 4) night with unsecured children.

FSPD issued a BOLO (Be on the lookout) via Twitter in response to a Twitter post that said children had been seen inside a U-Haul van pounding on the windows and yelling. According to the post, an older lady got into the van and cussed and yelled at the children before pulling out.
