ADEM said they stand "ready to take damage reports and to coordinate resources if needed to help combat any effects of the storm."

ARKANSAS, USA — The Arkansas State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) has been activated in response to the severe weather coming to the state, according to the Arkansas Division of Emergency Manager (AEDM).

The operations are at Level I activation.

ADEM, Arkansas State Police, the Arkansas Department of Transportation, the Arkansas National Guard, the National Weather Service out of Little Rock, and other personnel are collaborating at this time of emergency.

Parts of Arkansas started to experience a mix of snow and ice on Sunday, Jan. 14.

ADEM said they stand "ready to take damage reports and to coordinate resources if needed to help combat any effects of the storm."

"I have joined my team here in the SEOC, and we will remain here for the duration. Our top priority is to be ready if something serious happens,” ADEM Director A.J. Gary said.
