Fort Smith couple walks away with $500,000 after a quick stop at a gas station

The woman and her husband had previously won a $50,000 prize in a separate game, but they say this one "will change your life for good."

FORT SMITH, Ark. — A Fort Smith couple is $500,000 richer after purchasing a lottery ticket from a gas station on Rogers Avenue this week.

S. Jetullahu, a regular lottery player with a preference for scratch-offs, was gifted the ticket from her husband to celebrate an approaching birthday.

"When we saw the zeroes, it was just like 'Oh my God' ... I still don't even believe it," said Jetullahu.

The woman and her husband had previously won a $50,000 prize in a separate game, but they say this one "will change your life for good."

The couple plans to repay debts, invest the remaining money, and continue playing lottery games.

Another winner from Mountain Home won a $50,000 prize from the April 17 drawing.
