More details released in deadly crash on Highway 412 in rural Benton County

The crash occurred at around 4:30 a.m.

BENTON COUNTY, ARKANSAS, Ark. — More details have been released in a deadly crash that happened on Highway 412 near Tontitown on Tuesday morning.

According to the deadly crash report investigated by Arkansas State Police, 40-year-old William Hollingsworth of Owasso, Okla. died after the box truck he was driving collided with a Freightliner that had just entered the highway from the shoulder.

The report said Hollingsworth's vehicle "failed to slow in time" and hit the back of the Freightliner semi-truck. The box truck Hollingsworth was driving "caught fire and was fully engulfed moments later," ASP said in the report.

Troopers on the scene of the crash were able to confirm the crash was deadly.
