FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) – Sophomore Carson Shaddy entered Arkansas’ midweek series against Grambling State as one of the Razorbacks’ RBI leaders. It took him just three innings to take over the team lead.

Shaddy drove in six runs, five of which came in the first three innings, and Arkansas pounded out 15 hits en route to a 14-4 win inside Baum Stadium.

The Fayetteville native went 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles and scored twice in leading the Razorbacks (14-3) to a win in the series opener. Shaddy has driven in 18 runs on the year. The two will wrap up the short series on Wednesday at 3 p.m.

Michael Bernal and Clark Eagan, the two players who were ahead of Shaddy on the team’s RBI list before the game, weren’t shutout as Bernal drove in a pair while picking up two hits while Eagan went 3-for-6 and scored three times and drove in a run.

Isaiah Campbell picked up the win for Arkansas after throwing four innings while allowing three runs on four hits and struck out four. Grambling State (4-10) hit a pair of home runs in the top of the third inning to tie the game at 3-3 but Shaddy powered a three run frame in the bottom half of the inning with a two run double.
