FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM)–In a foul heavy game, Arkansas ran away from Fort Wayne with a 92-83 win to start the season 1-0.   The Mastodons were picked to win the Summit League in the preseason.

Redshirt senior Dusty Hannahs led the way with 23 points on 7 of 17 shooting. Daryl Macon played a team high 33 minutes and was one of six Arkansas players to reach double figures (Jaylen Barford, Dustin Thomas, Manny Watkins and Anton Beard). Preseason SEC Player of the Year Moses Kingsley contributed 9 points along with 9 rebounds.

The Razorbacks were able to dominate in transition and down low. Arkansas outscored Fort Wayne 52-22 in the paint and 24-0 on the fast break. As a team, the Hogs shot 53% from the floor. Ten different Razorbacks saw playing time in the opener.

One theme from the game was the amount of fouls committed by both the Razorbacks and Mastodons. There were 66 free throws taken on 53 personal fouls. Colorado transfer Dustin Thomas was the lone Hog to foul out.

Up next for Arkansas, Southern Illinois comes to Bud Walton Arena on Monday, November 14 at 7pm.
