Arkansas's Morgan Leinstock receives second SEC Pitcher of the Week honor

Arkansas pitcher Morgan Leinstock tossed two complete-game shutouts and struck out 11 batters in 14 innings against Alabama over the weekend.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — On Tuesday, Arkansas pitcher Morgan Leinstock was named SEC Pitcher of the Week, marking the third consecutive Razorback to take home the honor.

It's the redshirt senior's second conference weekly award, as she claimed SEC Pitcher of the Week on April 9.

Leinstock led No. 12 Arkansas (32-12, 11-7 SEC) to a series victory against No. 19 Alabama (31-12, 8-10 SEC) over the weekend at Bogle Park, which welcomed 11,571 fans to set a new weekend series attendance record.

The Scottsdale product went 2-0 in the circle in three appearances against the Crimson Tide. She tossed two complete-game shutouts, struck out 11 batters and allowed eight hits and zero runs in 14 innings.

In Friday's 1-0 walk-off victory, Leinstock surrendered four hits across a season-high nine frames, striking out six and allowing one walk. Additionally, she did not give up an extra-base hit against Alabama.

Carrying that momentum into Sunday's rubber game, Leinstock tossed her second complete-game shutout of the weekend and held the Crimson Tide to three hits across five scoreless innings. She racked up five strikeouts and only walked one batter in the 8-0 run-rule victory.

Arkansas returns to action on April 26 with a three-game road series against No. 8 LSU. Coverage from Tiger Park begins at 6 p.m. on SEC Network+.
