Both the Roland Police Department and OSBI are investigating the death.

ROLAND, Okla. — A 2-year-old girl was killed in a shooting in Roland on Monday, Oct. 23, according to Roland Assistant Police Chief Chris Waters.

Waters says a call came in early Monday afternoon and officers were dispatched to the area of Loop West. Both the Roland Police Department and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) are investigating the death. Waters confirmed there's no threat to the public.

Sequoyah County District Attorney Jack Thorp confirmed the girl's father was also shot and both were rushed to the hospital. Thorpe said the father is expected to survive, but the investigation is still ongoing.

Thorpe said any possible charges will be considered once the investigation is complete.
