BENTONVILLE, Ark. — Walmart's New Home Office will be hosting a grand opening of its new fitness center on Jan. 12, 2024.
The building, named Walton Family Whole Health & Fitness is located at 1400 SE 5th Street in Bentonville (on the home office campus).
The building is 360,000 square feet and according to Walmart, is "designed to prioritize not just physical well-being but also emotional, mental, financial and more," of its associates and members.
"Since our founding, the health and well-being of our associates has always been a top priority. Our goal has always been to give associates the tools they need to become the best versions of themselves," said Walmart.
Director of Whole Health and Fitness Megan Henley said the center will benefit thousands in the community.
"We know that we impact over 30,000 individuals in the community that either have access as the associate themselves or their families or households that can utilize this facility, so we know the impact is broader than just the individual associates in the area," said Henley.
Here is a list of a variety of amenities the center offers based on associate requests.
Amenities:
- Hydromassages
- Cryotherapy
- Tennis courts
- Pickleball courts
- A childcare center
- An auditorium and conference center
- A food hall with healthy food options
Walmart's new building is carefully designed up to its shaded walkways and bikeways that the company said are to "keep all areas of the campus well connected," and avoid major traffic and parking strains.
"The way you experience this building with daylight and the nature that's not only around the building, but inside the building really is different than you would typically expect in some of the current facilities, but that's what we want to show off to associates working on campus, and how that's going to be such a unique, connected experience to nature, to the community and really a holistic campus all together," said Henley.
Walmart also said health-focused classes and events will soon be announced.
