BENTONVILLE (KFSM) – Retail giant Walmart plans to pay more next year to its workers making minimum wage, according to a spokesman for the company.
There is no exact timetable yet, but the spokesman said that it would likely happen in the first quarter of 2015. No details were given on just how much of a raise workers currently paid minimum wage could expect, either, the spokesman said.
Walmart said of its 1.3 million workers, less than 6,000 are paid minimum wage. The company is the country’s largest private employer, the spokesman said.
