The Sam Walton Five and Dime Walmart Visitor Center will take advantage of their cutting edge technology this Friday.
It may be among the oldest buildings in downtown Bentonville, but inside it is equipped with the latest technology. The Walmart Shareholders’ meeting at Bud Walton in Fayetteville will be broadcasted at the center on big screen televisions for city leaders.
“This is the first year that the Walmart Visitor's Center has the technical capability of doing it since we had our remodel last year and it was a little soon to do it then,” said Alan Dranow, the center’s director.
With Walmart celebrating its 50th anniversary, Dranow says what a better place to share the meeting than at the Five and Dime.
“Being the oldest building on the square, it's interesting to have cutting edge technology inside it and the reason for that is that it's the oldest building and we wanted to preserve it and this is where Walton’s Five and Dime an the entire concept of Walmart began."
