NEWTON COUNTY (KFSM) — A Rogers woman died Sunday (May 15) after falling off a bluff in Newton County, according to the sheriff’s office.
Jessamy Samuels, 19, fell from Hawksbill Crag while hiking with a friend, according to Newton County Investigator Glenn Wheeler. Samuels was there with a friend and hopped off a rock and stumbled, falling off the bluff, Wheeler said. She fell more than a 100 feet.
Samuels was a Rogers School District student and had been a freshman at the University of Arkansas. According to her Facebook, she was studying anthropology.
Organizations Samuels was a part of have expressed their condolences.
