SPRINGDALE (KFSM) — Ozark Regional Transit added a new route to its Northwest Arkansas bus network.
Since May 2015, ORT had been working with some of the larger employers in Springdale to provide public bus transportation to their workers to increase employee retention rates. ORT tested four so-called workforce routes.
The program will now be funded by George’s, Inc., so two of the four workforce routes can continue. The routes have been consolidated into a single, permanent route in Springdale called Route 65. Like the original workforce routes, Route 65 is designed to help employees get to work, primarily at the George’s, Inc. plants, in time for all shifts, and back to workers’ neighborhoods at the end of their shifts.

Route 65 brings the number of routes in Springdale to a total of five, plus the Route 490 Express Route, which is shared among the four cities.
