FORT SMITH (KFSM) – Fort Smith officials say their new smartphone application for city services garnered almost 300 service requests in its first year.
The city of Fort Smith has released its service results for the myFortSmith app, showing about 300 requests were made between March and December in 2014. The most common requests concerned downed trees and limbs, illegal parking, overgrown grass, potholes, trash and debris, according to a statement released by the city.
Deputy city administrator Jeff Dingman said he expects usage of the app to grow, as the city keeps up with the local public’s demands.
“The platform provides the public with greater access to local government, gives us access to their eyes, ears and perceptions about things we need to address, especially in the way of infrastructure,” Dingman said.
