Fans are proud of the new video scoreboard and some said this puts the Razorbacks on the map for innovation during football games.

“I think any claim to fame is good for the school,” said Razorback fan Glenn Scott.

The first Hog football game of the season kicks off in high definition.

The new video scoreboard at Reynolds Razorback Stadium is 38 feet tall and 167 feet wide, doubling the size of previous one.

“You look up and alright cool, you can see everything, it's enormous, so I love it,” fan Jamie Sullivan said.

Fans said the $4.6 million was money was well spent.

“Living here in Fayetteville, everyone loves to come to the game and anything to enhance the experience for fans is well worth the investment,” said Sara Sullivan.

Some who didn't splurge on a ticket sit on a hill nearby the stadium to watch the game for free on the state of the art display.

“The other one you couldn't see because it was a little bit smaller and it had a glare on it, but now you can see it better,” said Cenia Lee.

Some fans tell 5NEWS the scoreboard creates a better game day atmosphere, especially if your seat is far from the action.

“You feel more involved watching the big screen than you do trying to watch the players on the field," adds Glen Scott.

This was part of a series of upgrades to university athletic facilities, which included new stadium LED identification signs and new game clocks.
