JOHNSON COUNTY (KFSM) — The Johnson County Sheriff is recovering in a Washington D.C. hospital after he suffered a stroke while attending a memorial dedication for a fallen Johnson County deputy on Saturday (May 15).
Sheriff Larry Jones had a stroke on Saturday while at the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington D.C. He was there to watch Deputy Sonny Smith’s name get engraved into the memorial as a fallen officer.
Saturday was the one-year anniversary of Deputy Smith’s death, as well as National Law Enforcement Memorial Day.
