BENTONVILLE, Ark. — A $24 million interactive children's museum opened in Bentonville on Wednesday (July 15).

The Scott Family Amazeum opened to the public at 10 a.m. Wednesday after nearly 10 years of work and planning.  The museum was named in recognition of the contributions made by former CEO of Walmart Stores Inc. Lee Scott and his family.

The 50,000-square-foot state-of-the-art museum features eight interactive exhibits. In addition, there are three activity areas including a Hershey's Lab. It's the only one outside of the company's headquarters.

"It's really about interactive hands-on learning and getting people to work together to have fun to learn without realizing that they're learning," said Dana Engelbert,  marketing manager of the Scott Family Amazeum.
