FORT SMITH (KFSM) -- Police believe they had a confirmed sighting of a shooting suspect on the 200 block of May Avenue around 1 p.m. on Thursday (April 14).

Tony Martin is believed to have left on foot from that area, wearing blue jeans, a dark shirt and possibly a black jacket.

Sgt. Daniel Grubbs with Fort Smith Police said that Martin is still armed.

Amy Vernon, Martin's sister, said she spent most of Thursday with investigators and urges her brother to turn himself in.

"Me and my mom both are very worried about his safety; we love him," she said. "I know what he did wasn't right but if he would just turn himself in, that way mom will know he's safe."

Fort Smith officers released the identity of a suspect in an overnight shooting in a Fort Smith apartment complex on Thursday (April, 14).

Officers are searching for Tony Martin, 47, who should be considered armed and dangerous, according to a press release.

According to the release he was last seen leaving an apartment complex in the 4200 block of Kinkead Avenue in a tan passenger car with a white female who could be named "Ryan." Martin has allegedly claimed that he is not going to jail willingly.

The shooting happened on the 4200 block of Kinkead Avenue, at the Boardwalk Apartment complex just after 3:30 a.m., according to the release. Police said two men were injured, one shot and the other stabbed.

Rekardro Pore, 38, had an apparent gunshot wound to his right cheek from a small-caliber handgun, the release states. He was found at a residence in the 600 block of North 44th Street, and was then taken to a local hospital.

At the apartment complex police found another victim, Aaron Tash, who had a small cut to his shoulder that he got during a struggle with Martin, according to the release. Pore was also shot during the struggle when he tried to intervene.

Officers said both men are expected to be okay.

Martin has outstanding warrants for aggravated robbery, terroristic threatening, and theft for incidents on Tuesday morning (April 12), when a man reported being robbed at gunpoint in a Dallas Street apartment complex, according to the release.

Martin also has outstanding warrants for felony domestic battery and petition to revoke a suspended sentence for an incident in late March 2016.

Police said the suspect is still on the loose this morning and should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about Martin is urged to contact Fort Smith police at 479-709-5100 or dial 78-CRIME.
