FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) - Democratic candidates made a final push to connect with Arkansans before Election Day on Tuesday (Nov. 4). That included a campaign stop in Northwest Arkansas on Monday (Nov. 3) by Mark Pryor and Mike Ross.

The Senate race pits the Democratic incumbent, Pryor, against U.S. Rep. Tom Cotton, R-Ark.

Pryor's first campaign stop on Monday was in Fayetteville. The Senator met with voters at Fresco Café and Pub.

"If you are tired of the gridlock in Washington, you're tired of the bickering and if you feel like no one is listening to you up there then you need to vote for me," he said.

The race to replace term-limited Democratic Gov. Mike Beebe features Ross against Republican Asa Hutchinson.

Like Pryor, Ross also campaigned in Fayetteville on Monday. He spoke to supporters at Drake Field Airport.

"The question is are we going to build on the foundation Governor Beebe has laid and continue to move Arkansas forward creating more and better-paying jobs, or are we going to turn the clock back?" he asked.

Fayetteville was one of several stops for Pryor and Ross on Monday. The candidates traveled across the state to drum up enthusiasm for their campaigns.

Ross said he will work with Democrats and Republicans to "find common ground and find common sense solutions to the challenges we face."

Pryor said he believes he's the right choice for Arkansans, adding, "Every year, I am ranked as the most or one of the most independent senators in Washington, and I think that's what they want."

Rain is in the forecast for Election Day, but Ross said he doesn't want rain to discourage Arkansans from voting.

"You know they can get rain on Election Day Tuesday, or if they do not vote, they may very well get soaked for the next four years," he said.

The other candidates for governor are Libertarian Frank Gilbert and Green Party candidate Josh Drake.

Libertarian Nathan LaFrance and Green Party candidate Mark Swaney are also running for the Senate.
