A driver collided with a deer while driving her car on Interstate 540 near Lowell, injuring her eye in the crash.
State police said the woman was driving down the southbound lanes of I-540 just before 10 p.m. when a deer darted out in front of the vehicle. The driver lost control of the car, which left the roadway.
A piece of glass lodged in the woman's eye, and responding crews rushed her to Northwest Medical Center in Springdale. Police stayed with her car and temporarily closed down a lane following the wreck.
Lowell firefighters and the Arkansas State Police responded to the crash site.
