SOUTH CAROLINA (WCSC) – The body of missing four-year-old Jayden Morrison was found in a pond on Dec. 26, Horry County Coroner Robert Edge confirmed. His body was located a few days after rescue crews began their search.
The pond where police found the body is located 10 homes down from where he was staying, police say. The four-year-old was wearing the pajamas he went missing in.
His body surfaced after coming across some kind of mound underwater, police said.
Horry County Lieutenant Raul Denis said during a news conference Friday, it appeared the boy died due to drowning.
Investigators said the body was found while the water levels in the pond were lowered. A medic volunteer found the child’s body.
The four-year-old boy was reported missing at 5:30 p.m. on December 24, authorities said.
