LITTLE ROCK — A Little Rock woman has pleaded not guilty after being charged with manslaughter in the accidental death of her 6-year-old nephew, who died from a gunshot wound to the face Wednesday (Nov. 18).
Police said Kenya Brevard was negligent in leaving the child alone with a gun, according to THV 11. They said she left him alone in a place where he could easily get a hold of the gun.
Little Rock police told THV 11 that the boy was in a vehicle by himself waiting for Brevard and her daughter to come out of a nearby home. Brevard found him in lying down in the backseat, along with a gun.
Police said they believe the boy shot himself.
Brevard is still being charged, even though the death was ruled accidental, THV 11 reported.
