Menifield, Harris to enter transfer portal after one season at Arkansas

Arkansas guard Keyon Menifield Jr. and forward Denijay Harris will enter the transfer portal when it opens on March 18.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. β€” Arkansas guard Keyon Menifield Jr. and forward Denijay Harris combined to play 320 minutes this season, and that's all the time they'll see as Razorbacks.

Menifield and Harris, who transferred to Arkansas in 2023 and played just one season, announced on Friday their intent to enter the transfer portal, which opens on March 18.

Menifield, a transfer from Washington, started the season as a non-scholarship redshirt but regained eligibility on Dec. 15 after receiving a waiver from the NCAA. After getting approved to play, he had a career outing against UNC Wilmington, recording 32 points, five assists, and four rebounds in a 106-90 victory on Dec. 30.

In 14 games, Menifield averaged 7.9 points on 37.5% shooting. His last appearance was in a 71-61 loss to Mississippi State, where he played only three minutes.

Arkansas Athletics said Menifield did not go to Nashville, Tenn., for the SEC Tournament to "work on academics."

Harris, who has one-year remaining eligibility, transferred to the Razorbacks after a breakout season at Southern Miss but never found his footing at Arkansas. He played in only 11 games and finished the season with seven points, nine rebounds and three assists in 49 minutes.

Menifield and Harris join Joseph Pinion on the list of Hogs entering college basketball's transfer portal when it opens on Monday.

The transfer portal will be open for 45 days before closing on May 1.
