Pedestrian dies after being struck by vehicle in Springdale crash

The caller told police that she struck a man who ran out in front of her. Police say that driver impairment is not a factor in this incident.

SPRINGDALE, Ark. — A 37-year-old man is dead after being struck by a vehicle in Springdale on April 26.

A release from the Springdale Police Department (SPD) says that at around 9:50 p.m. officers responded to the area of Hembree and Thompson Street for a vehicle versus pedestrian crash.

The caller told police that she struck a man who ran out in front of her. Police say that driver impairment is not a factor in this incident.

Julian Aldaco-Diaz was identified as the man struck in the incident. He was taken to a nearby hospital for life-threatening injuries and later died. 

SPD says in its release that "evidence of impairment was found on and near Aldaco-Diaz."

Springdale police say that the incident is still under investigation, but no criminal charges are expected for the driver at this time.
