James Fork Regional Water asking customers to conserve water 'in any way possible'

James Fork Regional Water serves Sebastian and Scott Counties.

SEBASTIAN COUNTY, Ark. — James Fork Regional Water (JFRW) is asking its customers to conserve water "due to extreme cold temperatures."

JFRW serves Sebastian and Scott Counties, with cities impacted including:

  • Hackett
  • Hartford
  • Mansfield
  • Bonanza
  • Huntington
  • Greenwood
  • Sebastian Lake Estates
  • Milltown-Washburn

"Due to extreme cold temperatures JFRW system is being stressed. Please conserve water any way possible," JFRW said on Tuesday, Jan. 16.

Mansfield Mayor Buddy Black said customers will need to conserve until the weather gets above freezing.

In the meantime, he said, "Just try to cut back on your usage. Maybe not wash as many clothes."

According to 5NEWS' weather team, highs on Wednesday, Jan. 17, in Sebastian and Scott Counties should be in the 40s.

Unfortunately, that won't last long. A wintry mix will possibly come to the area again on Thursday, Jan. 18, which will drop our highs again below freezing for Friday and Saturday.
