Benton County justice of the peace announces Rogers mayoral campaign

If elected as mayor, Chris Latimer said he would work with Rogers residents to make the city a "better, safer place for all."

ROGERS, Ark. — A Benton County justice of the peace announced that he is throwing his hat into the ring to become Rogers' next mayor.

District 4 Justice of the Peace Chris Latimer announced his mayoral campaign on Saturday, May 5.

Latimer said he is proud of Rogers but believes there is still room for growth.

"I believe it's still not living up to its full potential, and that's our challenge and our opportunity, and that's why I'm running for mayor," he said.

He says he's prepared to "lead Rogers towards a more vibrant future."

Since being elected as a justice of the peace in 2022, Latimer said he has "worked to make county government more transparent, efficient, remove unnecessary regulations, and prioritize roads and public safety."

If elected as mayor, he said he would work with Rogers residents to make the city a "better, safer place for all" with a focus on accessibility and transparency.

The nonpartisan position comes with a four-year term.

Mayor Greg Hines, who has served three terms, has not announced whether he is seeking reelection or not.

Rogers residents will vote on their next mayor in the election on Nov. 5, 2024.

I am very excited to officially announce my run for Mayor of Rogers! LatimerforRogers.com
