Bella Vista residents have the opportunity to discard old appliances this spring

For any registered items, they should be placed at the curb at the beginning of the pick-up week on April 1 at 6 a.m.

BELLA VISTA, Ark. — Republic Services will pick up some Bella Vista residents' old appliances free of charge during the first week of April.

Residents, who have accounts in good standing, can sign up in one of two ways:

  • By emailing your name, address, and type of appliance to appliance@bellavistaar.gov
  • Or calling (479) 876-1255 and dial 7

Residents can register between March 1 and March 28. Registrations will not be accepted after March 28.

For any registered items, they should be placed at the curb at the beginning of the pick-up week on April 1 at 6 a.m. The city advised that pickup could take a few days.

Appliance details

The city says major appliances, such as washers, dryers, dishwashers, stoves, and water heaters, are eligible for the program. Small appliances that can fit in the trash, such as toaster ovens and small microwaves, will not be picked up.

Refrigerators and any items that use Freon are also not eligible to be picked up by Republic Services. The city says if anyone is looking to dispose of these types of appliances, they can be taken to the Benton County Solid Waste District for a fee.

Any other bulk items, such as mattresses, vacuums, grills, televisions, etc., can be picked up weekly with prior notice. For scheduling a bulk item pick up, call Republic Services at 800-431-1507 or email at bulk401@republicservices.com.
