MARIANNA, Ark. — A homicide investigation by Arkansas State Police's (ASP) Criminal Investigation Division (CID) is underway after a local farmer found a woman's body on a farm field road in Lee County.
The farmer found the body — who was later identified as 30-year-old Ashley Monroe of Lexa — near Lee County Road 706, north of Marianna.
According to ASP, the Lee County Sheriff's Office asked CID to take over the investigation on May 21.
ASP says the investigation into Monroe's homicide is ongoing, and her cause of death is yet to be determined.
