In a "5NEWS This Morning" segment that aired Sunday (October 25), anchor Daren Bobb spoke to Sen. Boozman. He said the gap in nutrition begins when the school year ends. He also said it hits this area of Arkansas especially hard, and that he hopes to have additional funding available to provide parents with the resources to mitigate this issue.
While in the studio, Sen. Boozman also talked about the push of emphasizing science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) in the curriculum of schools across Arkansas. He said there's a tremendous and rapid change in the skill level employers now require from their workers.
