MANHATTAN, NEW YORK (WPIX)–A stabbing outside a club in Chelsea early Wednesday injured at least three people, including former Knicks player Chris Copeland, officials said.

It happened about 4 a.m. at a club near West 17th Street and Ninth Avenue. Aerial footage of the scene showed crime scene tape lining the sidewalk outside 1 OAK, which describes itself as having a “celebrity-heavy clientele.”

A fight at the club turned violent and left two women slashed and a man stabbed, police said. An NYPD spokesperson said the male victim is a professional basketball player with the Indiana Pacers, but did not identify him.

A source told PIX11 News the athlete is Chris Copeland, who from 2012 to 2013 played for the New York Knicks and since his departure from New York has been a forward for the Pacers. Copeland hails from Orange, New Jersey.

All three victims were taken to a hospital in unknown condition. No further information was available.
