The 61st annual War Eagle Mill Arts and Crafts Fair starts Thursday (Oct. 17). It will end Sunday (Oct. 20).

The craft show has been a Northwest Arkansas tradition since 1954. It's located east of Rogers near the War Eagle Caverns.

Exhibitors opened their booths at 8 a.m. to start the four-day event. The fair draws in thousands of visitors showcasing an array of attractions from homemade decorative items to collectables.

Larry Ellis has been going to the fair for years. He loves looking at hand-carved items and jewelry.

"They put a lot of their time in and effort into some of the things they do and you see things here you're not going to see anywhere else," he said.

Both vendors and visitors travel for the fair.

Carrie Evatt traveled with six of her co-workers from Broken Arrow, Okla., to go to the fair.

"It's a lot of fun to get away from work and pick up a lot of stuff for decorating and just spend a lot of money," she said.

Evatt was also enjoying the weather and said it puts her in the fall mood.
