SPRINGDALE (KFSM)- Three suspects recently arrested in a deadly gang shooting in Springdale pleaded not guilty in court on Wednesday (April 15).

Rodolfo Martinez, 18, who police say is the shooter in Saturday’s drive-by gang shooting, Giovanni Vasquez-Sanchez, 17, and Jose Delatorre, 18, pleaded not guilty before Magistrate Judge Ray Martinez in the Washington County Detention Center.

The three have been charged in the killing of Jimmy Rodriguez, 20, according to police. Police also arrested a 13-year-old male in the shooting death.

Martinez, Vasquez-Sanchez and Delatorre are being held without bond. They are set to appear in Washington County Circuit Court on May 6.

According to an arrest report, witnesses told police a blue Ford Focus with several people inside stopped in front of a home on Savage Street in Springdale on Saturday. The occupants began yelling at three males in the driveway, one of those being Rodriguez.

The report states the occupants in the car asked Rodriguez and the two other males what gang they represented. One of the individuals in the driveway responded, then one of the people in the car, who police believe to be Martinez, pulled out a silver handgun and fired three rounds. One of those rounds hit Rodriguez in the chest, according to the report.

Police said Rodriguez was transported to Northwest Medical where he later died.

The report states police found the blue Ford Focus several hours later at a residence in Springdale where the suspects switched vehicles. Police said the car and silver handgun were confiscated.

Delatorre and the 13-year-old suspect were arrest Sunday (April 12). Martinez and Vasquez-Sanchez were arrested Monday (April 13).
