Police identify man found dead in Springdale creek

An investigation is underway after a body was found in water in Springdale.

SPRINGDALE, Ark. — Updated on Apr. 17 at 11:25 a.m. 

We have just received an update from the Benton County Coroner, Daniel Oxford, and this is what he told us.

  • The body had been there for quite some time, approximately six months.
  • Due to that, there were no obvious signs of trauma.
  • Results are still pending from the Arkansas state crime lab.
  • The report he received pointed to information that the man was staying in Springdale but there is no positive identification of where that residence was.

An investigation is underway after a body was found in Springdale Wednesday (April 15) morning. 

According to the Springdale Police Department, around 9:15 a.m., a city worker found a body under a bridge in water near Silent Grove and Pump Station Road. 

Upon further investigation, detectives have been able to positively identify the deceased as 50-year-old Jeffrey Scott Adams.

Springdale police say they are unsure if the death is from foul play at this time. 

Adams' have been sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for further investigation.
