A storm system will affect our area on Wednesday with scattered showers and thunderstorms breaking out along and ahead of the cold front.
Wednesday Morning: Sometime around sunrise we should have a few scattered showers and thunderstorms underway. These storms will move off to the east and we may get a small break for a few hours.
Wednesday Early Afternoon: Another line of showers and thunderstorms will develop. These should be the stronger of the two rounds. Storms that develop in the afternoon will have a wind/hail risk and even a limited tornado risk. The tornado threat increases towards central Arkansas.
The highest severe risk will be just to our east into Central & Eastern Arkansas.
Looking ahead...
* System Friday night, probably a few storms but not much instability to work with.
* System Monday, not much moisture and limited instability so the overall severe weather risk seems low.
The long-range trend for next week looks a lot cooler with highs in the 50/60s and lows in the 40s (30s?)
Overall, not too bad for April!!
