We lose daylight at the fastest pace in September

The lower 48 loses one to three minutes of daylight per day during the month of September.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The days are getting shorter while the nights continue to get longer as we wrap up summer in the Northern Hemisphere. 

We lose daylight at the fastest pace on the fall equinox, which is September 22, 2021. The United States will still lose daylight heading into winter, but the pace slows down.

The month of September posts the biggest losses of daylight of any month of the year. Here is how much you'll will AT LEAST lose by Sept 30th.
