Heavy rainfall causes multiple road closures in Northwest Arkansas and River Valley

Heavy downpours in the area have resulted in multiple road closures and flood warnings for areas in Northwest Arkansas and the River Valley for Friday, March 24.

ARKANSAS, USA — Heavy rainfall Friday morning has resulted in multiple road closures and flood warnings for areas in Northwest Arkansas and the River Valley.

Fort Smith has flooding alerts out on the following roads. The city is advising residents to not risk driving in these areas, especially if barricades are present. 

  • Highway 271 / Texas Rd
  • Highway 71 / Riley Park Drive
  • Highway 96
  • 66 / Kinkead  
  • 4001 Newlon Road
  • 2301 Towson Northbound outside lane
  • Brooken Hill / Willow Brook
  • South 16th / Rogers Ave
  • Highway 271 / Hillside
  • North D and North 10th
  • North G and North 9th
  • Jenny Lind / Knoxville
  • North H / North 10th
  • South 91st / Houston
  • North 16th / North H
  • North 16th / Grand Ave
  • North 10th / North B
  • North 9th / North E
  • North O / North Greenwood Ave
  • North 7th to North 8th from North E to North K Streets
  • South 25th / Dodson
  • Towson / M
  • Towson / South O
  • Towson / Phoenix Ave
  • Cavanaugh Rd. and 28th St.
  • State Hwy 45 and Savannah St. 
  • All northbound lanes on Towson between Phoenix and Fresno
  • Country Club / Old Greenwood
  • Highway 45 between Planters and Burrough
  • North 8th / Kelley Highway
