ARCTIC BLAST ARRIVES TUESDAY:
A strong cold front will move through Tuesday which will knock our temperatures back down well below average. Scattered rain showers are possible along the cold front as it pushes through with a few snowflakes possible across NW Arkansas in the afternoon.
There may even be a brief period of all light snow tomorrow afternoon north of I-40.
Accumulating snow will be possible as far south as Kansas City and Joplin, with only trace amounts here locally.
FREEZE WARNING:
A Freeze Warning is in effect for Tuesday night and Wednesday morning as temperatures are expected to plummet below freezing.
RECORD LOWS LIKELY:
Record breaking cold is likely in both Fort Smith and Fayetteville overnight Tuesday.
EXTENDED FORECAST:
A warming trend will resume beyond Wednesday with highs back in the 70s with sunshine by next week.
