The trend of calm and comfortable weather will continue into the week with changes on the way late-weekend into next week.
It was a chilly morning early Tuesday with morning lows in the 30s and low 40s; this is nearly 15º below normal.
Another Omega Block is setting up this week and this ridge will prevent that large low from advancing east.
The ridge will finally break down sometime late weekend allow the showers and thunderstorms to move into the panhandles of Texas and Oklahoma.
In the past, the models have been a tad too aggressive bringing these systems into our area so I would expect a later arrival.
Storms should develop in Western Oklahoma late Sunday but it’s unlikely they’ll make it into our area before fading.
As the upper low nears, late Monday night and Tuesday would see the mostly likely timeframe for storms. It’s likely that many of them will be severe.
