Construction work sending drivers on detour along I-40 between Clarksville & Ozark

Eastbound drivers entering I-40 from Highway 164 will be detoured south and travel along Highway 64 to the Mile Marker 55 interchange.

OZARK, Ark. — Bridge preservation work on I-40 Tuesday (April 6) will send eastbound drivers on a detour. 

According to the Arkansas Department of Transportation (ArDOT), eastbound traffic entering I-40 from Highway 164 at Mile Marker 47 will have to use the signed detour route south on Highway 164 to Highway 64 where drivers will travel east and enter I-40 at the Miler Marker 55 interchange.

ArDOT did not specify how long the detour would last. 

Crews have been working on parts of I-40 in the Ozark area for months. 

5NEWS will update this story when a timeline for the completion of the construction is given.
