The West Fork High School Cheerleading squad took third place at last year’s state competition.  This year they are looking to go back and reclaim their state crown.

“We want it and we want it bad,” said Senior Amber Wood.  “We have been state champions before we have been 10th in the nation.  We want it, we strive for it and we work hard.”

The team won the state title in 2010 went on to the National competition where they finished in 10th place. This year they have worked extremely hard to make their stunts and dance routines as difficult as possible in order to get back to where they were in 2010.

“All we do is go to practice all the time,” said Junior Wyatt Montgomery.  “We (the boys) go straight from working out to practice and the girls are constantly working hard.”

“We've been working on our full up liberty stunt,” said Junior Meghan Bankleeck.  “We are nervous about them, but I think we can do it. We are a very elite team.”

The team travels to Hot Springs, Arkansas on Friday and puts all their hard work to the test at the State Competition on Saturday.
