(KFSM) — Former Razorback standout Bobby Portis often talked about wanting to spend his career with the Chicago Bulls, going as far as to say that he had “Bulls DNA.” Now, that isn’t going to happen.
Ahead of Thursday’s NBA Trade Deadline, Chicago dealt the pro Hog to the Washington Wizards, along with Duke alum Jabari Parker. In return, the Bulls received Otto Porter Junior from Washington.
The move came as a surprise to many on the team, who look to Portis as a leader, friend, and the consummate teammate.
Since returning from injury, Portis was averaging 14 points and 7 rebounds per game with the Bulls. Portis turned down a contract extension last summer, and is set to become a restricted free agent this off-season.
