Arkansas enters Death Valley as a 42.5-point underdog

5:47, 3rd Quarter – Things are officially out of hand as Edwards-Helaire made Arkansas safety Myles Mason look silly in the open field en route to a 26 yard touchdown run. LSU 42, ARK 6

7:48, 3rd Quarter – On the very next play, LSU puts the ball in the end zone on a 50-yard touchdown pass from Burrow to Chase. LSU 35, ARK 6

8:31, 3rd Quarter – Not much happening for either side to start the second half as the Hogs missed a field goal in the only drive of note. LSU just flipped field position as Edwards-Helaire broke free for a 35 yard run to midfield.

0:14, 2nd Quarter – Just when Arkansas thought there were going to have a chance at an upset, the Razorbacks defense that fans have seen too much in recent years showed up. LSU has scored on three straight possessions and just marched 90 yards in nine plays, capped by Burrow’s second TD pass of the half. LSU 28, ARK 6

1:51, 2nd Quarter – Lack of awareness has cost the Hogs on two separate drives as Jefferson slides down short of the line to gain and Arkansas is forced to punt. LSU with another shot at scoring before the half.

3:17, 2nd Quarter – The Arkansas defense got a couple stops in the first quarter but have been carved up on their past two drives. LSU covered 62 yards in just five plays, capped by a 27 yard run. LSU has 229 yards of offense, including 188 passing from Joe Burrow. LSU 21, ARK 6

5:15, 2nd Quarter – A false start penalty put Arkansas behind the chains and essentially killed the drive. A punt gives LSU the ball back at their own 38 with a chance to add to their lead.

7:38, 2nd Quarter – LSU quickly responded the Hogs’ big drive with one of their own. The Tigers marched 75 yards in just six plays and 2:05 as Ty Davis-Price capped it with a two yard scoring run. LSU 14, ARK 6

9:43, 2nd Quarter – Jefferson’s third down pass fell incomplete but Arkansas pulled even closer as Limpert hit his second field goal of the night, this one from 47 yards out. LSU 7, ARK 6

8:41, 1st Quarter – Facing a third-and long, Jefferson pulled the ball down and scrambled and appeared to have space to pick up a first down but the freshman chose to step out of bounds three yards short of the first down marker. LSU takes over inside their own 10 after a punt.

12:33, 1st Quarter – KJ Jefferson gets the start at quarterback for Arkansas, which makes him the seventh different starting quarterback since the start of the 2018 season.

12:33, 1st Quarter – LSU took the opening kicked and did what you would expect the No. 1 team in the country would do to a really struggling team. The Tigers marched 75 yards in less than three minutes and found the end zone on a 37-yard touchdown pass from Joe Burrow to Ja’Marr Chase. LSU 7, ARK 0

There’s no arguing that Arkansas is near the bottom of the college football world in 2019 and the last 10 days shows that.

First the Razorbacks fired coach Chad Morris following an embarrassing loss to Western Kentucky and then Arkansas opened up as a 46-point underdog. The line has dropped to 42.5 points but it would still be the biggest upset in Razorbacks history.
